Construction operations / demonstration
Operating date: October 14, 2026
Fictional data
Scope → approval → billing → payment

Extra work shouldn’t disappear.

Track every scope change from request through collection.

Change-order register

Capture the request before the work

Create a scope record.

New requests start unapproved and unbilled.

For this public demonstration, use fictional information only. Records remain in your browser.

My work sample

Make scope visible. Close the loop.

The business problem

Extra work is discussed, crews get moving, and the office discovers later that approval was never documented or billing never happened. A request, an approval, completed work, an invoice and a payment are separate events. I designed this prototype to keep them separate and traceable.

My operational approach

I capture the request, its source, an accountable owner, proposed price and estimated direct cost. I require an approval reference before recording authorization. Completed work without approval remains visibly at risk. Billing requires both recorded approval and completion; payments cannot exceed the recorded invoice.

How I used AI

I developed this example with an AI collaborator to translate construction operations experience into a working tool. My contribution is the operational direction, review and refinement. The implementation was generated with AI assistance. This version does not use a live AI model to interpret documents.

What you can test

Open an order, record approval evidence, mark work complete, simulate billing, and record a payment. Watch the unapproved, unbilled and receivable totals update. Add a fictional request and export the register. The decision log records each change.

Connection to my experience

My work at Cable’s Roofing connected sales, estimating, contracts, production and procurement through Salesforce workflows. This prototype applies that same thinking to a specific source of lost revenue: a change in scope that never makes it through the commercial process.

Evidence and limits

All starting records and references are fictional. Approval references are entered by the reviewer; this prototype does not validate a signature or interpret a contract. Billing and payment actions are local simulations and create no invoice or external transaction. Contribution is price minus estimated direct cost, not net profit. I make no claim of measured client savings from this demonstration.
